Included in the MEX-N5000BT CD receiver is Sony's App Remote feature which allows you to take charge of selecting sources, picking radio stations, and launching apps from your phone's touchscreen, as well as selecting apps using the stereo's source button. App Remote turns your smartphone into a display for the receiver, allowing you to see details like album art, track info, caller information all at once on your phone, rather than reading it off that receiver's annoying single-line display.
The MEX-N5000BT's built-in Bluetooth introduces us to a new level of convenience and capability. Once paired up with your smartphone, you're all ready to roll. In addition to hands-free talking when receiving call, you can now wirelessly stream all the music stored on your mobile device to this Sony receiver. With Sony's Simple Secure Pairing system, the pairing process is a breeze, and if your phone supports NFC you can pair them by simply touching the receiver.
Connect to compatible iPhones® through Bluetooth® and activate voice commands and inquiries right from the receiver. You'll hear your iPhone response through your car audio speakers, and this receiver will also notify you of incoming text messages. This way you're fully in control of everything you'd expect your smartphone to do for you while still free to keep your eyes and attention on the road.

Included in the MEX-N5000BT is Sony's impressive Advanced Sound Engine, featuring a 10-band EQ, digital time alignment for setting up the perfect stereo "sweet spot," as well as frequency filters to make your speaker setup rock like a star. Sony's powerful Digital Reality amp is well known for its solid sound output and realistic audio reproduction; but If you're looking to expand your system with external amps, you'll find three sets of preamp outputs.
In addition, you'll have a host of great musical options as well. Check out your latest CD, or browse your favorite Pandora® Internet radio stations from the receiver's controls. Sony's Quick-BrowZer® makes it easy to search for songs by artist, album, song, genre, or playlist; so just plug your iPhone® or iPod® into the USB input, and enjoy the results. If you subscribe to SiriusXM tuner, you can also experience an unparalleled variety of news, talk, sports, and music. And hey! You can choose from over 35,000 colors, so to assure this receiver to seamlessly blend in your dash.
